Embracing tech by encasing it in wood

Being such a marvelously designed concept piece, it is hard to say what types of technology are at work here. Of course, if the core of this project is an iPad there is plenty of built-in technology ready to be utilized. The iPad has a MEMS (Micro-ElectroMechanical Systems) based accelerometer and a gyroscope. These are being used to great advantage by many app developers. They can be monitored and used to switch between functions based on the orientation of the device.
